After the 4th of April, 1989, pretty much every piece of writing subsequently created is copyrighted as soon as it is created. Copyright information is not actually necessary for copyright to apply, but I felt as though I’d rather be safe than sorry. In addition, financial compensation or gain does not have to be involved for copyright to be violated.
